Last Blog Challenge of the Year
Here is a list of the books I would like to read over the summer.
1)City of Ashes: I have already read City of Bones the first book in this series and I enjoyed it a lot. I want to discover if the second one's just as good.
2)The Recruit: Many people have told me this was a great book, with lots of action. This is the type of genre I enjoy thorougly.
3)Percy Jackson and the Lightning Theif: When I was younger I gave this book a try and I didn't like it. Now I want to try it again because I am getting in to greek mythology.
4)Catching Fire: Second book in the Hunger games series is going to be a great one. Hunger games was fantastic now I want to move on to Catching Fire.
5)Pendragon: This is a book that many have read but I haven't got into it. I would like to give it a try.
6)Gone: A book that I am going to love. It has it all packed into one amazing book I would like to read it.
7)Divergent: Just by the title you can tell this book is a one that you will never be able to put down, and when it's done you'll go hunting for the second book.
\
8)The Lost Hero: This book is an action filled book and I would really like to read it during the summer.
9)The Golem's Eye: I have already read the first book in this trilogy and it was one of the best books ever. I hope this one will bring the same pleasure as the first one.
10)City of Glass: City of Glass is the third book in the Mortal Instruments series. I would love to get to this book over the summer.

10 Books I would like to read during the summer;
1. Divergent - Veronica Roth
I would love to read this book because of all the people who are telling me its a great book, and a great trilogy. I really liked the hunger games and people tell me this book is like it and even better!
2. Insurgent - Veronica Roth
I want to read Divergent so why not read the second one?
3. The Rook - Daniel O'Malley
The Rook is a new book that is kind of like the CHERUB series, except it is about a girl who wakes up to hundreds of dead people lying down around her, she doesn't know who she is, and she needs to find out information about her past to figure out what really happened (Info from http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/10836728-the-rook)
4. Revived - Cat Patrick
This book seems amazing. Doctors make a drug that can revive people back from the dead, and one girl is the test subject, she's been revived 5 times in 15 years, and after each time she comes back, she has a whole new identity. From there, she figures out the doctors real plans, and develops her own plans to start mayhem.
(Info from http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/12681233-revived)
5. Books 5-12 of the CHERUB Series - Robert Muchamore
A book about James and his life as a CHERUB agent, I've already read the first 4, and i'm psyched to read the rest of the series.
6. City Of Bones - Cassandra Clare
A lot of people have been telling me to read this book, it is supposed to be absolutely amazing. I didn't put "The Mortal Instruments" Series as the title, because i'm not sure if I will like the book or not.
7. Gone - Michael Grant
I would love to read Gone by Michael Grant because also, lots of people have been telling me to read this book, and the Best Book Debate we did in class sort of persuaded me to read it. Again, I only put Gone because I'm not sure if I will like it or not.
8. Maximum Ride 2-8 - James Patterson
I read the first book in the series, and it was amazing. I couldn't get my eyes off the page and I finished it in about a week. (That is really fast for me.) Schools Out seems like a great book from what people and the internet tell me.

Many of the ten books I want to read are either re-reads or series.
1. Insurgent, because I loved the first book Divergent. With the ending of Divergent it left me wanting more.
2. The whole tomorrow when the war began series. I've read the first book of the series and loved it. So I really want to finish the series to find out what happens.
3. All 7 or 8 books from the Alex Rider series. I read all the books a couple of years ago, and from what I recall they were all very good, so I would like to read them again.
4. Young Bond, it's a very similar series to Alex Rider, so I want to see how the two series are different and similar.

May 28th Challenge
My favourite childhood food, there are plenty, 1 was mash potatoes, yet, I still love it. I cant get enough of mash potatoes, with butter, salt and pepper. But my favourite food, still is, and I will always love it, is mothers chicken curry, with basmati rice. I love it so much, because I know it won't always be here. I wont be eating the same curry in what, 30-40 years, so I think I still like eating it everyday. (Yes, I eat curry, rice, and vegetables, maybe some fish, beef etc. EVERY day.) All it is, water, spices, sauces, chicken!
The book I am reading this week is The Killing, by Robert Muchamore. It is the fourth book in the CHERUB series. The main characters are still, James, Bruce, Kerry, and Lauren. James gets dumped by Kerry, because of his ignorance, right away, he gets mad and beats up some random kid. He gets suspended from missions, no holidays, he has to clean up the mission prep rooms every night for three months, and he has anger-management classes. Later on though, Zara gives James a low-risk mission with his 17 year old friend Dave.

Challenge of June 4th
A book that has a HORRIBLE cover is Class A. Class A is the second installment of the CHERUB series. An amazing book, I cant lie, but the cover shows a kid on his bike. The book is completely irrelavent to the illustration on the title page. It is about kids going on special missions, in this one they go to a small city with people who dont use electricity, and they have to find out some of the illegal things they are doing.

The book I'm reading this week is The Killing, by Robert Muchamore. James gets sent on a mission (FINALLY!) to south London, where he gets put in a flat, to investigate a man named Leon Tarasov. Dave (James' partner) gets a job, while James, gets a girlfriend (not really a girlfriend, just for the mission) He has to befriend the son of Leon Tarasov, but unfortunately he died a year ago from falling off of a rooftop.

Challenger for June 4th
The book I have for this week's challenge is the Blue Helmet.
This is great book with a bad front cover. The front cover just shows a person who is shaded blue with no detail on his face at all, it's basicaly just an outline. The book is mainly focused on Lee's and Bruce Cutter's friendship but the front cover dosen't show any of that. Many people might think this book is very bad because of it's lame front cover. In the inside the pages are filled with amazing information about Lee's hard life and how he fought threw some difficult moments. First he lived in Hamilton with his father but his father was sick and tired of him breaking the law, so he got sent to New Toronto to live with is aunt Reena. Now he spends his days working at Reena's cafe and doing deliveries for her. Lee makes frendship with Cutter a man that he does deliveries for. When Cutter dies he leaves all his money to Lee and his house. Lee's father comes to New Toronto for a while. While he is there Lee, Reena and Lee's father settle in, in Cutter's home and live their. I stronly think this book need's a new front cover that describe's the book.

Divergent
I've just been chugging through books lately, I have finished Tomorrow, when the war began and I'm now onto divergent. My god what a great book. So in the most recent part that I've read Four and Tris go into Fours fear landscape. She learned a lot of things about him, other than his fears. She learned who he really is, an Abnegation council members son, the son who was abused by his father, Four was Tobias. After they get through it, Tris is trying to get Fours aptitude test results out of him.
Rating: Hollywood undead, again another great book I've stumbled upon. This book has everything in it, mystery, action, adventure and even a little comedy and romance. With the plot turning out the way it has I can't wait to see what happens.

CHALLENGE JUNE 4TH
The book I have chosen that has an awful cover but is a very good book is
I chose it because it has way too much going on on it to understand. Although its a very good book to read to entertain yourself. The cover doesn't look like its good to read. The colours on it doesn't set a very good mood or tone. I get that they tried to use dark colours but they haven't placed them well.

Challenge for the week of june 4 G.V
A great book that I have read wth a horrible cover is The Maze Runner. If you've read it you know what I mean. For such a great book, its cover is mis-leading, just a the walls from the Maze in which the Gladers live. I know the Maze is a huge part in the book, but I think that they could have done a better job with the cover. For example they could have had Thomas and Minho running away from the Grievers in the maze instead of just the Maze. The great story of how the determination, friendship and sacrifice of teenage boys to get their friends out is a great story, but with a bad cover like it has. Many people will not even give it a chance.
Tomorrow, when the war began 1
Seeing as how I had just finished up The Maze Runner, it was time for me to start a new book. The book I am reading currently is Tomorrow, when the war began. The part I have most recently read is when the teen's go into town to get Lee from his temporary hiding spot. They somehow got out using a plethora of vehichles to get out, including a brand new BMW, and a truck with a shovel to carry Lee in. They also got a new member to the group when they came across a classmate whem they were trying to hide out for a while. They restocked supplies and our now hiding out in Hell while trying to find out what to do.
Rating: Hollywood undead, lately I've been lucky coming across so many good books. So far I love this book, the characters are great because I can easily relate them to friends of mine and the story line is great. A group of teens trying to free their town from a hostile army.

Challenge May 28th
The recipe that was my favourite during my childhood was Thiacry. It represents our family because its the traditional dessert and each time we go on vacation to my parents country (Senegal), we eat it. When I was a kid and my ant made it, she put the couscous it in a special type of bowl and shakes it until it became moist and I touched it almost every second to see if its ready.
Recipe:
Ingredients
two cups of couscous
pat of butter (optional)
dash of salt (optional)
one cup evaporated milk
vanilla yogurt
one cup sour cream
one-half cup sugar
one-half teaspoon vanilla extract
dash of nutmeg (optional)
raisins or crushed pineapple or mint garnish (optional)
cup of water
Prepare the couscous as normal. (Bring four and one half cups of water to boil in a large saucepan. Add couscous, butter, and salt. Stir and cover. Remove from heat. Leave covered for ten minutes.) Allow couscous to cool. Pu couscous in a bowl. Combine all other ingredients. Stir yogurt mixture into couscous. Add more sugar, to taste. Garnish as desired. Serve warm or cold.

Challenge May 28 G.V.
It's hard to think of what my favourite childhood dish was, I mean there are so many. Moms home made cookies, dads home made pizza maybe? No definitly Grand-ma's home made pancakes.
That was a staple at Grand-mas house, you go to spend the night or the weekend and you can garaunte yourself that you would gain a couple of pounds. Thats just from the pancakes at breakfast! Don't even get me started on lunch and dinner... But back to the pancakes, you would wake up and smell the pancakes, run your little but off to get downstairs before someone else got the first one ( Usually grand-pa did) but you still ran anyways, then you would sit down and with every single pancakes, was a piece of heaven. These weren't your regular plate size pancakes, these were bit-sized pancakes! Even better, you would pack as many as you could onto your plate and just pile on the maple syrup.
Sadly though she has never revealed her pancake recipe to us yet, but we are still trying to get it out of her.
I know the challenge says to only give 1 of your favourite childhood dishes, but this next one is so good I gave to include it. Dad's home made pizza. That was simply the best, it was tiring to make, it took the whole day. Between making the home made dough, and the home made sauce, it took you the WHOLE day. Ohh and the sauce, my dad would always get mad at me because I would eat it with a spoon when he wasn't looking. But that pizza was the best I have ever had, still is to this day, although there are some that have come very close, but back to the pizza. Home made sauce, home made dough, real bacon, ham, sausage, fresh mozzerella, made my dad every time. Thankfully I know the recipe to this one so I'll be having some more pizza in the future, unlike the pancakes..

Maze Runner 4
In the section of Maze Runner I read, the Grievers took 1 more Glader like Gally said they would. But Thomas went out to purposly get stung, he had to do it to get his memories back, to try and figure out how to use the code. When he went through the changing he figured it out, he figured out how they have to make their last stand, make their way to the Griever hole to punch the code in the computer that is there, or die trying. He got Newt and Minho on his side and they convinced the others.
Rate, Hollywood Undead again. This book just keeps getting better and better as it goes on, I loke reading every page of this book, it is nearly impossible to put down and I just can't wait to read the ending to see how amazing it is, because if the parts leading up to it have been amazing, I can't imagine what the ending will be like.

Challenge May 14th
1) I don't think I could live a technology free life because I use it everyday. In my opinion most people would need lots of help becaus all most all people take technology for granted. For example the computer, lights in the house, microwave and many more. These products that we have in our houses now will take a lot of effort to recreate without using technology.
2) I do and don't think using a ram is cheating because it is electrical and it is technilogical. Their is really no ther way to get water so it may be acceptable under the rules they are supposed to follow. They have done a really good job and it would not be fair if someone accused them of cheating. So all in all I think its all right that they used a ram to get water.
4) I don't think I could live this way at all, I am used to having all these things around me every day . The thing that I would miss the most is running water. Out of all these things I use running water the most in a day. Running water is one of the things I take for granted the most it's been on the planet earth since I was born.
6) Yes sometimes I do feel rushed and I wish I could take a day off. Their is always something going on T.V, my friends are texting me or I have school work. Some days all I want to do is play video games or sit in the sun witha good book.

This week, I read Maximum Security, in the CHERUB series. I read the entire book this week, it was pretty amazing! It started off with James doing a training mission (we didn't know that until they revealed it). The main part story in the book is the actual mission James and his sister embark on. They have to go be an inmate in the Arizona Max prison, befriending the son of Jane, a arms smuggler. They befriend him, get lots of evidence, and eventually capture and prosecute Jane.
My rating system (I wasn't here when the whole class did this, and I recently figured this out)
It goes as 1 the best, 5 the worst.
1. T.I (My favourite rapper, so the best book would get a T.I)
2. 2Pac (Amazing lyricism, flow, honestly the best rapper in history)
3. Meek Mill (Great flow, awesome lyrics about life in the ghetto, has to be one of my favourites)
4. Nicki Minaj (I do not like her rapping, she sometimes has an OK song, but overall I don't like her music.)
5. Lil Wayne (Probably the worst rapper at the moment, his rap is not even rap, its him talking like a fool on some kind of medication that he abuses.)
I would give Maximum Security a solid T.I. It is an amazing book, I couldn't put it down. I think this book made my record, finishing a book in 1 week. I usually never finish half a book in one week, I guess Robert Muchamore changed that for me with the CHERUB series. I am looking forward to reading the next of his series, it is amazing from what I've read so far (the Recruit, Class A, Maximum Security)
Blog Challenge: I think the book Hunger Games wouldn't be changed way too much, most manga's I've read are either action or comedy (Naruto, Bleach, Toradora, Peacemaker etc.) Hunger Games would be an amazing manga since it is all about action, seeing Peeta and Katniss actually fight against the gamemakers would be simply amazing.
The characters wouldn't change too much, maybe a few details would be changed, and the behaviour.
The action would be paced a lot faster, they wouldn't need to write too much description, the picture is there for that.
The ending would not need to change, it would be shown the right way, with them coming back to District 12.
The title would not need to change no matter which format of book it is, the name of the actual games are the Hunger Games.

Challenge May 21st
The book I am reading is Life of Pi. It would change the book in a bad way because Life of Pi is about a boy who is experiencing 2 religions (Islam and Christianity) and he realizes that they both have one obvious common thing, they both believe in god. Manga's are more of a fantasy thing that's most of the time very unrealistic. The characters are Pi and Richard which is a Tiger. The characters would change because the name Pi and Richard are common names and Manga's tend to have Japanese names. They wouldn't act differently because they are very mature in the book. The title wouldn't change because the title can possibly be anything. The pace would be the same because there is several types of Mangas which are similar to Life of Pi. The end wouldn't change because ends for Mangas are very unexpected like the end of Life of Pi.

Maze Runner 3
In the third section I read of Maze Runner things have gotten intense. Teresa, the new girl has triggered "the ending" she told Thomas that telepathically, supplies didn't come for the week and everything is going bad. Minho and Thomas went out to do their jobs as Runners though and found something very interesting. At the cliff a couple of feet out there is a "Griever hole" where the Grievers seem to come in and out from, it's nothing that can be seen though because it's an optical illusion. They go back and tell Newt and Alby about it. After they get back though, Teresa wakes up from her coma and right away knows Thomas. In her first day there she had more memories than anyone before.

Hollywood undead. Yet again this book delivered, I couldn't stop reading. I thought it was impossible but the author James Dashner proved me wrong by making an amazing book even more amazing! With the book almost to the end, I can;t wait to see what happens.
Challenge
1. Seeing as I don't know what the characters look like I can't say if they will look different in manga. But I think they would act different, I think they would all be more blunt and aggresive towards each other and have less tolerance for stupidity and less patience.
2. I think for the most of it the action would stay the same if it was switched to a manga book. Like I said before there are some very good action scenes in The Maze Runner that would stay the same, just only a few scenes in the Glade would be changed to where there are a few fights between Gladers.
3. No, I think the ending would stay the same if the book was changed to manga. Because the ending scene where all the Gladers make the final push to the "Griever hole" to punch in the code is very intense. Alby sacrificing himself even though he waas crazy, other Gladers sacrificing themselves. The intense battle between man and machine. The ending would suit manga very well and wouldn't need to have any major changes, maybe a few small ones such as someone more known in the book sacrificing himself.
4. I think the title would/should stay the same. Because it's a mysterious title. It makes you wonder about what the book is about, it draws you in to reading the book.

Challenge May 14th
1) Yes, I would need help because if I don't even know anything about building products involving technology I obviously would fail and need help
2)I wouldm't consider it as cheating because you're using technology to help you with your needs.
4)I wouldn't be able to live without all of these essentiels because electricity keeps you warm and cozy, a refrigerator can keep your food from rotting and water is most essential to the body. You can live with it for more than weeks.
6) Yes, I feel rushed in fast time, but I wouldn't want to have a leisurely day because I am so used to the distractions we have around us that it would be almost impossible to make that transition happen
Firestorm would be a wonderful asset because the adventures Jack goes through are so cool and amazing. First he learns how to fight very well and to fly.

Challenge May 14
Questions.
1: No I don't think I'm knowlegdable enough to live technology free for a year. Many people are used to technology helping them for everything, homework, work, even washing your car. I myself am one of those people. Although I am not knowledgable enough to live without technology for a year, I am definitly up for the challenge.
2: Yes and no, I think using a ram is cheating, but it's also playing by the rules. I think its a very thin line between cheating and not, and that is right in the middle. Because my definition of technology is anything powered by electricity, rams are not usuallly powered by electricity so in my books it's all right.
4: I would be able to live with a refrigerator and electricity, but the thing that would be the hardest for me to live without would be running water. Because our generation take most things for granted, running water being one of them. I don't think people truly realise how lucky we are to have fresh clean water to drink when we're thirsty, or how lucky we are to be able to have showers and not have to use a hole in the ground as a toilet. Although I realise we are lucky to have running water, I don't think I appreciate it enough.
6: I do get caught up in life, with all the technology things come at you so fast and form so many directions. It's hard to keep up with everything, and with set schedules it throws off things that are important to keep us sane and healthy. Like sleep, we've all stayed up later than we should because we're on all our differnet forms of technology like computer, cell phones, Ipods, video game consoles, we may have fun on those while we're on them, but when we only get 3 hours of sleep that night? Yeah we kind of rethink it after that. Or how about staying up late to finish a project, people can say it's the teachers fault for giving us so much work, but many people procrastinate on work too. Technology and a fixed schedule go hand in hand for making our life more difficult, we have stuff to do for job or for homework, but we procrastinate and use technology instead.

Blue Helmet 1
Lee, a strong young boy trying to get into the baddest town in the city, The Tarantulas. During his attempt, he ended being arrested, and sent to live with his aunt in Toronto. In Toronto, he has found himself doing food deliveries to make money from his aunt, he also goes to school. At school, he has gotten into a fight with the schools bully group, and ended up getting beaten up.
Blue Helmet 2
In the second section of Blue Helmet, Lee is now used the life in the sandwich shop with Reena, but he ends up thinking about his past, like hitting his ex, and stealing from convenience stores. He is also befriending a man named Cutter, he is strange but shakes Lee's hand so it does show that they do trust each other. Cutter doesn't let anyone touch his computers, or his documents, lives alone etc.
Blue Helmet 3
After Cutter's suicide, Lakshmi tells Lee that Cutter left his house, and all the insides on his last will and testament, with the name Lee on it (Cutter gave all his things to Lee). As Lee starts to clean the house and what not, he discovers the weird and wacky things Cutter did, he had one computer only for Internet, one for business, and one for games (he made them). He also finds out why Cutter is crazy, paranoid, insane, and all those other things you DON'T look for in a person.
Blue Helmet 4
In the amazing last section of Blue Helmet, as Lee is biking home from Cutters place, at around midnight, the least expected happened. Reena was found lying on the ground unconscious and bloody. Just as he walks in he sees a burglar running out. As usual, Lee takes care of him by beating the crap out of him, then takes Reena to the hospital. Later on in the ending, Reena, Lee and Lee's father moves into Cutters old house, living a new good life, away from gang warfare.

Challenge - Week of May 14th
1. I think being technology free is a little too hard being in this generation. Amish people probably live really hard lives without ACTUAL refrigerators, or running water, so no, I think I'm not knowledgeable enough to live a life as an Amish.
2. No, using a hydraulic ram wouldn't be cheating, or breaking the Amish rule. Its not necessarily electric, or hurting the environment, isn't that their goal? To not hurt the environment and be completely Eco-friendly? Using the ram is still a non automatic object (people have to pump it).
4. I think I could live without a refrigerator, without electricity or technology, but I would struggle A LOT. It would take a lot of adapting since I already live in a world where technology is a substitute for actually trying to do things yourself.
6. No, I couldn't just relax in the sun leisurely. I need to be doing something at all times. Relaxing on the sofa doing nothing is NOT something I could do, I need to be moving, or seeing something move on a screen.
A book that would fit this, is Box Out. The main character struggles as a basketball player but ends up being one of the best. I want that sort of life, he is a regular teenager living with technology, electricity, a microwave and a refrigerator, a life I do have and will always want.

Maze Runner 2
In the next section of Maze Runner that I read, a lot happened. First of all, Thomas is starting his job training with each of the keepers to see what job he's best at, but still no matter what he does, he still wants to be a runner he doesn't know why though, it just feels right. But the most interesting part of the book is when Alby and Minho went to check out the dead Griever, they didn't come back until right when the doors closed. What had happened is the Griever wasn't dead, so when they went to check it out it came back to life and got Alby. Thomas saw them coming rigth before the doors closed and he couldn't control himself, so he went to help them. Now it's the three of them out in the Maze at night with tons of Grievers running around, Thomas hung Alby up on the wall to try and save him from the Grievers, Thomas had to do it alone though cause Minho went off running earlier. Having dealt with Alby it was now his turn to run and hide, he ran from a couple of Grievers before he finally ran into Minho, they ran themselves into what many think would be a dead end at the cliff but they didn't. Using a move where they have the Grievers run at them and move to the side at last minute to trick the Grievers and have them run off the edge.
Rating: Hollywood undead, like the first part of the book I read, this part was equally as good in my opinion. It kept you on the edge of your seat wondering what would happen. Like when Alby and Minho never came back, you didn't what to but you always wondered "Maybe they're dead?". Luckily Thomas and Minho are alive, hopefully Alby is too.

Blue Helmet 4: In the last section of the book is a schocking surprise which you didn't see coming. Lee has just come back from Cutter's houseand it's nearly midnight, Lee thought Reena would be sleeping by now. When he goes into her room to check on her he see Reena's ex boyfriend beating her forcing her to give him money. Lee goes and beats up Reena's ex boyfriend and takes her to a hospital to get her cleaned up and check if she's really badly injured. Reena ex boyfriend was taking away by the police in hand cuffs
to spend some time in jail for all the damage he has done. That same day Lee payed his dad loan and deposted some money in his bank account. At th end of the book Lee's dad payed him a visit in New Toronto and Reena aided them to build there strong relationship. At the end all three of them lived in Bruce Cutter's house.

Challenge of April 30th
For this lit circle i chose to use the book i am number four. What would happen is john didn't fight back on the magadorians leaving henri, mark, sarah and number six to die. I think that henri will tell the rest of them to run while he fights them off (since he is the oldest and would spear his life for the others). But he would have died in the prosess and the magadorians would be on the chase again but this time they know what he looks like and they know number six as well. John might tell sarah he has to leave and bring number six with him but he wont bring her because he cares about her and wouldn't want her death to be his fault. He would bring Bernie Kosar with him because he is an alien too and that would be the end of the first book. I haven't read the second one but i think they might leave the country to hide somewhere (just a logical idea). Their you have it challenge of April 30th. K.B.

Maze Runner 1
Seeing as I just finished Blue Helmet, it is time that I start a new book. The book I have started re-reading is Maze Runner. It has just started, Thomas is coming down "The box" as the gladers call it, he's confused, doesn't remember anything, well anything except his name. He's in the glade now and doesn't know what to think, he's surrounded by maybe 50, even 60 other teenage boys. He hasn't been there long, but he already knows something is up, he's determined to become a runner and scout the maze to get him and his new friends out no matter what.
Challenge
In the book "The death cure" the climax is when Thomas has to kill Newt. Newt, who was infected with the flare, had given Thomas a note. He told Thomas not to read it though, until it was time. Confused, yet anxious to know more, asks when the time is. Newt only replied, "You'll know when...". They went to see Newt and the crank house to try and convince him to come back with Thomas, Minho, Jorge and Brenda. But they didn't succeed. Newt has trusted Thomas to know that this was the time, the time to read the note. They left reluctantly and it didn't hit Thomas until after that that was the time to read the note. He read it, it said to kill Newt. On their next encounter, Thomas remember the note, but couldn't bring himself to do it until Newt, he gripped on to every last bit of sanity he had left, begged Thomas to do it, and held the gun up to his head until Thomas pulled the trigger. If Thomas didn't kill his friend, I think that Thomas would have killed himself. Maybe not something to that extent, but you get the point. I think Thomas would have been in a dark place, leaving your friend to go crazy, not only once. But TWICE! If he would have walked away, the guilt of letting his friend slowly crawl into the depths of insanity, the guilt would weigh more on him than killing him. Killing him puts and end to the suffering that would happen, but not killing him would make him suffer through insanity.
I would rate his Hollywood undead, because it is in my opinion amazing. It already leaves you wondering what's gonna happen, it leaves you wanting more right from the very start. It's easy to imagine the characters, its easy to imagine anything in the book! If the rest of the book is like this, garuanted I'll finish it in a couple of days!

Challenge for April 23
Challenge for April 30: The book I chose is ''Firestorm'' by David Klass. The climax is when Jack has to decide between saving the coral reefs or just listening to Dargon and team up with him. I think that if Jack didn't try to find Firestorm, Dargon was going to takeover all the species, the seas and the coral reefs. Jack did a good choice going and try to find Firestorm on his own. Jack already knew that Dargon was up to something evil and he was right.

Blue Helmet 4
In the last section of Blue Helmet, Lee was out and about doing who knows what, but when he came home something seemed a little. So he went to check on Reene, only to find her on the ground and a strange man ransacking her room looking for anything valuable, Lee took care of buisness though and dealt with the intruder then took Reena to the hospital. Later on though Lee also made amends with his father, after despositing money in his bank to pay off his loan, his dad paid him a visit in new Toronto. There Reena helped the two re-buld their relantionship, now all 3 of them are living together in Cutter's old house.
Challenge
1: Alex Rider series, every book in this series is amazing. The adventures of a young teen spy going all over the world for different reasons. Not only is 1 of the books amazing, but they all are! They can keep you going for quite a while.
2. Conspiracy 365. Amazing series, following young Cal Ormond as he sets off to solve th mystery his dad started to unfold before his mysterious death. Not only being chased by police for alleged assualt on his family, he's also trying to avoid 2 of the most powerfull criminals in the world, with help from only his bestfriend Boges and his new friend Winter. Cal must solve his familys riddle to clear his name and to avenge his father.
3. Catching Fire. Although it was the second of 3 books in the amazing series, Catching Fire was by far my favourite out of the 3! Katniss is sent back into the Hunger Games along with other fellow winners. What she doesnt know though is there is a plan, a plan where everyone will do all they can to keep Katniss and Peeta alive. They endure the torturous arena before help finally comes and takes them away. But not everyone, the plan set in place to kill the careers who weren't willing to comply with the plan backfired leaving everyone skattered, so Haymitch and his friends couldn't save everyone.
4. The first book in the remarkable series. Katniss Everdeen, a young women from District 12 volounteers to for her sister in the Hunger Games, a fight to the death essentially, where only 1 remains. Though the odds are stacked against she remarkably is the top competitor after training. With everyone wanting her dead, her only allies are a little girl named Rue, and her district partner who is nowhere to be found.
5. I am number 4. This book follows a young man, although he looks like us, talks like us, he is very different from us. He is an alien, not the kind like E.T. But still, an alien. When he was young his planet was destroyed and he fleed to earth with 10 other kids of his kind and there "cepan". With the people who destroyed his planet coming after him, the time is running out before he has to face his enemys. Powers or not...
6. Young Bond. This series follows a famous spy (James Bond) as a teenager, going through life. Solving certain mysterys, and just trying to live a normal life at his prep school.
7. Ripleys: Beleive it or not! Although these books aren't novels. I still love them and are immensly entertained while reading these. Filled with things that ar odd, fascinating or just plain weird, this book makes for a lot of fun to read.
8. Mocking Jay. Although the lesser of the 3 books in the Hunger Games, I still found this book very good. Katniss is bnow the Mockingjay, the last ray of hope for anyone against the capital. With her district destroyed, they flee to district 13. District 13 was thought to be destroyed in the original rebellion, but they rose from the shadows annoucing to everyone that they are in fact alive and well. Alive, well and ready to fight back...
9. Blue Helmet. The book started out kind of weird, but as it went on I loved it. A young teenager trying to find his place in the world. After leaving his troubled past and moving in with his aunt, Lee tries to start fresh. New friends and new life. Although it was an odd life, Lee was content.

Challenge April 23rd (climax)
In the book "Night Runner" the climax of the story is when Mr. Entwisle helps Zach escape the nuthouse. If Zach didn't escape the centre, then Zach would have been tooken away by one of Vroloks contacts and the police. Who knows what they would do to him. Escaping was a much better choice, because he ends up living like a real vampire, and having lots of thrill.

Challenge April 16th: The book I chose for this weeks challenge is Firestorm. I want to give Gisco the possibillities to actuallt say things instead of always keeping it to himself or saying ''we dont have time''. That will help him and Jack to proceed faster because Jack wanted to know everything. So by giving Gisco the ability to open his heart, it will help him advance very fast. This will be very handy.

Lucky Charm Challenge(April 16th): An object that I think will help Katniss out in the Hunger Games is clean fresh water. During the hunger games Katniss is very dehydrated and its hard to find natural resources and water is an esential need. Water would help her function better so she has more energy to fight and kill people. For everyone water was something they neede so if you had water you have an huge advantage over your opponents. There was lake and it had tons of water but the water was very dirty and drinking this water would result in you getting sick. If Katniss had lots of fresh clean water winning the hunger games
would be easy as pie.

Luck Challenge (April 16th)
A character I would give lots of luck to is Lee in the book I am currently reading "Blue Helmet". Lee needed lots of luck in the beggining, because the police caught him robbing a convienience store. If Lee wasn't caught, he would be in the gang the Tarantulas. Instead he is now working with his aunt in a restaurant and doing deliveries to people around New Toronto

Blue Helmet 3
In the section of Blue Helmet I read this week, Lee. After Cutter left Lee everything in his will, Lee finally got up the nerve to get around to emptying out Cutters house. But after venturing in the unknown that is Cutters house, Lee uncovered some nerve wracking things about his crazy friend. He found out what drove Cutter to the edge on insanity and finally made him snap.
Reading challenge
I would have giving Cutter a locket as a lucky charm, it seem's kinda of wierd to leave him a locket. But hear me out, I would have left him a locket so he can always have a picture of his friends and family around, because since Cutter had his days where he was worse than others. I think him having the locket would have always reminded him that there are people who still cre for him in the world that he thinks is corrupt, and that he would be leaving those people to grieve by themselves if he ever thought of commiting suicide. Also because as corrupt as Cutter thought the world was, there was always a few people there for him like Lee, who stuck around through his insane rants, people who actually cared for him and never wanted him to leave the way he did. SO having those people with him all the time would be a reminder that no matter how bad things are, or how bad you think things are, there's always good in the world, no matter how small. Its always there.
I would rate this section Hollywood Undead,
Meaning that I thought this part of the book wasx the absolute best, reading abolut Lee uncovering Cutters history kept me wanting more. Learning about the strange man ws fasinating to read.

The ten books I would take to a dessert island are the following:
Box Out
The Killing
Divine Madness
Man vs. Beast
The Fall
Mad Dogs
The Sleepwalker
The General
Brigands MC
Shadow Wave
I picked Box Out because it is one of my favourite books I've ever read, it is about basketball, and to me basketball is life.
I picked The Killing and all the CHERUB series books after that because those are the books in the series I haven't read. I know that they will be amazing since the first three books were probably the best books I have ever read.

Character challenge for April 9th: Gregory is the character I chose because he has struggle fitting in the society. He has trouble being or talking to girls. He tries many things not to be an outcast in the schools. Even his friend Rowley, he taught that he would never adapt to the social life actually made it very well. I would give Gregory confidence and courage to never have butterflies in his stomach to conquer his fear of trying to be popular.

Blue Helmet 3
In the section of Blue Helmet this week, Lee relived some of his old memories. Mainly his break up with his ex-girlfriend and when he hit her out of a fit of pure rage. Now he is more used to his life with Rena at the cafe, and he is more aquinted with Cutter now. But Cutter was acting strange even by his standards, for once he actually shook Lee's hand, which may be a sign of things to come...
Challenge
For the challenge this week, I'm chosing Lee from the book Blue Helmet, the book I am currently reading. The issues/troubles he has is his shady past. The fact that his violent self comes out every now and again in his new life with Rena at the cafe. The plan I would make for him to improve upon his issues is this, get him into a lot more calming activities, and maybe even give him a pet. Because with the pet, he would have to be more responsible and have to look after someone other than himself, making him more responsible and making him throw out his old insticnts and ways of violence. Then with the calming activities, they do exactly what it sounds like, they calm him down, so violence ins't one of the first things that come's to mind in a sticky situation, instead he would try different things to get out of it or to resolve it.

The character I have chosen is Lee, from Blue Helmet. He is constantly getting caught from the police, and getting in to fights. In the book, he already is gettinghelp by living with his aunt. All he does is go to school and do work at his aunts restaurant. He is still a violent person, but he doesnt go out robbing convience stores, or go and assault somebody, he lives in discipline now.

Blue Helmet Section one: Lee has had a tough life growing up in Hamilton, his mother died to cancer when he was very young and his dad hasn't been much a father figure since then. He is forced to take care of himself which leads him into trouble at school with bullies and with the law because he failed his intiation test which would make a part of the largest and toughest gang in his neighbourhood the Tarantulas. His father sends him to New Toronto to live with his aunt. Lee soon finds out Aunt Reena owns a coffee shop so now he has a job there. At work Lee performs weel which gains him extra duties; delivery's for Aunt Reena and the local pharmacist Andrea. During his deliveries Lee meet's two interesting characters Krantz and Bruce Cutter. Krantz is a man who predicts the weather through radio signals and Bruce Cutter apears to be a schizophrenic.

Its layout is pretty good but it opens more tabs when u click on some and it makes finding something specific very difficult. it doesnt even have a search bar. over all i think he should change his site for the better by adding colors, easier navigation, more links for the rest of his books and help it et more publicity because i took me a long ime to find. this is k.b. signing off :)

The authors blog was fairly hard to find. It took around 10 minutes of searching, and we finally found it! It has teacher resources, information, publisher enquiries, a few book informations, and essays. It is properly organized, but it does look a little boring. The blog has information on him, and his wife! This blog also has links to reviews of William Bell's older books, newer ones too, and websites to different movies! He has a lot of offers and deals for things like school readings, library reading, Q & A sessions etc. His website also offers teacher manuals for his books at a regular price.
His website is completely active, and all the links work perfectly fine. The website is fairly hard to find because of all the other famous people named William Bell, but searching up William Bell Orillia will get you the website. If you cannot find anything you want on the website, just go to the publishers tab, and click send e-mail. That is one thing that can become a problem to some people, he should just make a "Contact Me" tab, and put his e-mail adress on that one tab!

Freezer Book Challenge: The book I would put in the freezer is The Blue Helmet, because of all the scary and violent scenes. Lee and Wildfong's fight in Hamilton was one of the scariest scenes in the book so far because it was very intense. Lee was punched several times severly and he had blood everywhere. Still Lee never gave up until he was knocked down by one hard hit to his gut. Another example was when Lee had got into a fight with the boy who came into the cafe and clutche Elieen's arm. She asked him to stop but he just wouldn't listen, then Lee also asked him to stop but again he ignored. Lee was furious so he charged at the boy and threw many punches at his face, his rib cage and pinned him to the ground. Elieen was angry with Lee's action so she helped the boy to his feet yelled at Lee about his bad actions and walked out. As you can see the book has lots of violence and fighting so its one of the books I would think about throwing in the freezer.

Freezer Book Challenge: The book I chose for this challenge was "And Then They Were None''. This book is a very intense and heartbeating book. It has that shocking and scary effect because you have no idea what is going to happen next. I chose it because it gets your adrenaline pumping. Its about eight people who get invited on an island. Each of them dies. Nobody knows who the murderer is because its between them. Every part has that suspense that keeps you turning the page. It gets so real and scary that at one point you feel you are in the novel. Book by Agatha Christie.

Summary (Section 1 of book)
Zach is a boy living in a mental ward, ever since he was bitten by a dog after his father died. All he really does is sleep during the day, because he has a sunlight allergy, drink strawberry smoothies with all his nutrients, run on the treadmill, watch movies, and read. One day, Zach was running on the treadmill watching movies, when a crazy old man crashes into that wall and shatters the entire thing. The strange old man kept telling Zach to be careful, and to run as police shot him down. Later on, Zach's uncle, Maximillan comes to meet Zach. Maximillan tells Zach that he is a vampire, who was actually not bitten by a dog, but by the Baron, Vrolok (a vampire). After, when Maximillan leaves, the strange old man who crashed into the wall, helps Zach escape the ward, after police and one of Vrolok's contacts tries to capture him.

BOOK FREEZER
This book, not one of my favourites, but it is definately something that wont let you sleep at night... This book has tons of stories, all that happened in Ontario, and all are supposed to be true stories. Some of those stories are pretty local to us living in Ottawa. One was placed in Manotick, another in Toronto... I do forget the author of this book since I read it a couple years back, but those stories are still stuck in my mind, and they never seem to leave me right before I go to sleep, but all day, I never think about it. That is why I would put this book in the freezer.

My second story I would put in the freezer is a short story named "My Dinner Date", by Jenna Kumeiga (it is found on MicroHorror.com. I would put this short story in the freezer because, it starts with a boy seeing his dinner date, but notices his throat torn open, and he starts building nausea, and vommiting to only notice it was himself.

Books to put in the freezer
This book, although one of my favourites is also the one I would put in the freezer. It's "American horror stories". As the title indicates, it's a book filled with old american horror stories. It's a book filled with bone chilling horror storys. One of the horror stories may not be enough to make you put the book in the freezer, but when you're up late at night reading a ghost story about a murderer, even the slightest sound makes you jump. A door creeking, water trickling from a sink, someone snoring, the accumulative horror stories start to play games with your mind that ultimatly make you place the book in the freezer. Like I said, there isn't a story in perticular that makes me want to put the book in the freezer, but it's after reading multiple storys that you feel the need to put the book away. Whether it be a ghost story, one of a gruesome murder, or anything else, it will be in this book, making you paranoid of even the slightest noise. That in the end is the ultimate reason why I would put this book in the freezer. Although, I wouldn't be against taking it out after a while...
The second book I would put in the freezer is "The death cure" the third book in the Maze runner series. For those of you who don't know, the Maze runner series is about a group of teenagers, all of them where taken from their families at a young age for science. What happened was there was a huge solar flare that devasted the planet, and when it happened there was a deadly virus released from a military lab that destroys people's brains essentially turning them into mad men. So in the Maze runner series, a bunch of kids where taken from their parents and forced to go through rigurous test's so the scienctists could collect their brain patterns to try and find a cure. Death cure is the final book, where they are told the trials have ended, but after years of being deceived the kids did not trust them. So they escaped after being told some of the kids had the virus while others were immune. The reason why I would put this book in the freezer is (Spoiler alert) the main character Thomas has to kill one of his bestfriends, Newt who is infected with the virus. That is the sole reason why I would put the book in the freezer, because with the last bit of sanity left in him, Newt begged Thomas to pull the trigger and kill him. Thomas did, but although he did was his friend wanted, struggled with the guilt of that for the rest of his life. It's a part in the book that alway's makes my stomach turn and even I beg for Thomas not to do it. But he does in the end, he did what his bestfriend wanted him to do, to kill him. That is why I would put that book in the freezer, because of the single scene where he has to kill his bestfriend to save him from insanity.

Raiting:
Options
1.ribs
2.chicken wings
3.steak
4.salami
5.ham
I made my raiting system so that it is according to which types of meat I like the most. Ribs as my favorite type of meat and ham as my least favorite. This book is pretty good but not my favorite book ever, so in my opinion its rated chicken wings.
Describe the Book Threw Food: This book is like ribs a dark colour black and brown. This book is based on vampires and vampires are evil and dark so ribs is a perfect food to describe this book. This book also has lots of suspense and you're never going to guess what's going to happen next. Same with ribs you're never going to know how their going to taste. I think the best food to describe the book Night Runner is ribs.

SUMMARY (part 3)
The book our group is reading in Lit Circle is called ''Night Runner''. Its a book that will keep the page turning. The main character is called Zachary, he got a little misunderstood with the federal police. His mysterious and weird uncled Maximilius saved him and brought him home. Over there, Zach discovers shocking news about the Baron and Maximilius (Zach's Uncle). Baron is a vampire who killed Zach's parents. Maximilius betrayed Zach to fight on the Baron's side. The Baron tried hard to get Zack in two but obviously failed. Vorlok (other name for Baron) has Charlie, the one Zach met at the ward and Luna who is the blind date Zach went with. He has them both in hostage. The end, Zach dies like everybody else, they go to this afterlife world. Its in the epilogue
DESCRIBE THE BOOK THROUGH FOOD :The last part of the book can be explained through cinammon because when you taste it, it has this disgusting taste that you don't really like because it kind of gives you nausea and at the end it has a spicy taste that's real;y unexpected like when Jack's uncle went with the Baron.
RATING
5)Nyjah Houston
4)Shane Oneill
3)Chaz Ortiz
2)Tom Asta
1)Jimmy Carlin
REASONING OF RATING SYSTEM: I chose Tom Asta for the book because its not the best and worst book I have read. Its the same thing with Tom Asta he's kind of in the middle. The book still has that suspense so you want to keep turning the page so its hard to stop, just like Tom Asta, you are waiting for that big thing to happen.

Zach was tracked down by Vrolok and had his first taste of human blood, but before anything bad could happen his uncle saved him and took him to his office. There he met Vrolok and was told of the offers that awaited him, but he could only go through with them if he chose for his two friends to be killed at Vroloks hand's. He refused and had a confrontation with Vrolok where Ophealia stepped in and came out of no where with his uncle Max tied up, a fight insued where the windows got blown out and Zach drank out his bestfriend Charlie dry until he died to survive and most likely killed the Baron. Zach died but went to a new life as a vampire with Ophealia, Charlie and Luna.
Page 260 " He's a loose end waiting to be tied up."
This part of the book to me is like creme brule, it's hard and crusty on the outside, but once you break the shell, it's oozing out with deliciousness. It was hard to enjoy at first, but once you got into it, it became more and more enjoyable.
I rate this book 3 days grace, because that is one of my top 5 favourite bands. It's not first on my list, but it's not last. It's in the middle.
